Chestnut Travel uses Bic’s insurance service
I. GENERAL RULES Article
Artical 1.
1. In accordance with the provisions of these Rules, BIDV Insurance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as BIC) accepts insurance for foreigners traveling to Vietnam, including Vietnamese residing overseas (hereinafter referred to as the Person entitled to receive insurance). insurance), including:
a. People who come to Vietnam to visit, visit friends and relatives, attend international conferences, seminars, congresses, sports competitions, art performances, work.
b. People residing in Vietnam such as experts, workers, students, people working in diplomatic missions, international organizations when traveling within the territory of Vietnam.
2. In case the insured goes to survey, explore, perform dangerous acts, race cars, horse racing, boat races, compete in professional sports such as football, boxing, windsurfing, climbing… is only insured provided that additional insurance surcharges have been paid to BIC in accordance with the fee schedule and insurance amount.
Article 2.
The Insured under these Rules is still entitled to participate and enjoy all benefits of other types of insurance.
II. COVERAGE
Article 3.
Coverage covers the following risks:
a. Be physically injured or die in an accident.
b. Sickness or non-accidental death during the period of insurance.
Accident is construed under these Rules to be caused by a sudden force beyond the will of the Insured, from outside acting on the Insured Person’s body and is the sole and direct cause of the Insured’s loss of life. danger of death or bodily injury.
c. Loss or damage of baggage and personal belongings can be reasonably attributed to the following causes: fire, explosion, collision, collision, sinking, toppling, falling.
d. Loss of checked baggage during the journey.
III. NOT BENEFITS OF INSURANCE
Article 4.
BIC is not responsible for:
1. Risks occur due to the following direct causes:
a. The insured person intentionally violates the laws, rules and regulations of the travel agency, the local government where the travel is located.
b. Willful act of the Insured or his legal heirs (who are designated to receive the sum insured under a certificate of insurance or will or by law).
c. The Insured Person is under the influence of alcohol, drugs and other similar stimulants.
d. Due to direct or indirect effects arising from, as a result of, or attributable to or aggravated by asbestos-containing substances.
e. War, civil war, riot, revolution, insurrection, military action or seizure of power, rebellion, civil riot.
f. Terrorism;
Acts of Terror: Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary contained in this policy or in any other supplement, it is agreed that this policy excludes loss, damage, harm, death, injury, illness, expense or expense of any kind directly or indirectly caused by, or in consequence of, or in connection with any act of terrorism by any any other causes or events acting simultaneously or in any other sequence on the loss.
For the purposes of this exclusion, an act of terrorism is understood to include, but is not limited to, the use of force or violence. and/or threat of force or violence by any person or group(s) acting independently of or on behalf of or in association with any organization(s) or government(s) where the action is of its nature or context for or in connection with political, religious, ideological, ethnic or similar purposes or reasons, including the intention to influence any government and/or to frighten the masses or a section of the masses.
This provision also excludes loss, damage, death, illness, expense or expense of any kind directly or indirectly caused by, or in consequence of or in connection with. any action aimed at controlling, responding to, preventing or in any way related to an act of terrorism.
2. Expenses incurred under Article 10.2 below in the case of:
a. The Insured Person develops a mental illness, becomes pregnant (except in case of miscarriage as a result of an accident), gives birth.
b. The Insured Person continues to receive treatment for an injury or illness arising from prior to the effective date of the insurance.
c. Treatment or use of drugs not as directed by the treating physician or physician.
3. Baggage damage according to article 12 below in case.
a. Loss of gold, silver, precious stones, precious metals, cash, travelers cheques, valuable documents such as money, passports, diplomas and certificates of all kinds, tickets of all kinds, documents and drawings, the design.

IV. INSURANCE CONTRACT, INSURANCE POLICY, CHARGES AND INSURANCE AMOUNT.
Article 5.
Foreigners traveling to Vietnam are required to participate in travel insurance, BIC shall issue insurance certificates to each individual. The premium paid by the policyholder or their representative to the BIC upon receipt of the insurance certificate.
Article 6.
Insurance validity begins and ends according to the time stated in the insurance certificate. In case the Insured Person is insured before entering Vietnam, the insurance coverage will commence from the date of completion of the procedures for exiting and entering Vietnam, and in all cases, the insurance coverage will end at the expiry of the stated period. on the insurance certificate or when completing exit procedures to leave Vietnam, whichever occurs first.
Article 7.
The Schedule of Fees and Insurance Amounts shall be prescribed by the Ministry of Finance of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam together with the Rules. In which currency the premium is paid, the insurance amount is paid in that currency. The sum insured stated in the insurance certificate is the maximum liability of BIC to the Insured Person and baggage. The deductible is not normally deductible as specified in the Schedule of Fees and Insurance Amounts.
Article 8.
1. If the Insured wishes to apply for an extension of insurance, the Insured must notify BIC and pay an additional premium before the expiry of the insurance period stated on the insurance certificate.
2. If the Insured Person’s trip is not carried out as planned during the period of insurance due to fire, earthquake or damage to roads, bridges or means of transport, the period Coverage stated on the certificate of insurance is automatically extended at no additional charge. However, this extension must not exceed 48 hours. If this time limit is exceeded, the insured must report to the nearest BIC for further insurance consideration, additional premium or suspension of insurance, depending on the specific case.
Article 9.
In case either party requests to cancel the insurance contract, it must notify the other party 24 hours in advance. If the contract is mutually agreed upon by both parties, the remaining period’s premium will be refunded 70% provided that up to that time, the Insured Person has never been accepted by BIC to pay the insurance premium.
V. BENEFITS OF THE INSURED
Article 10.
1. In the event of death or total permanent disability of the Insured as a result of an accident covered by the insurance coverage, BIC will pay the entire sum insured stated. in the certificate of insurance.
Total and permanent disability is understood under this rule to include loss of a leg and an arm or loss of both legs or arms or blindness in both eyes. Loss of a limb means the surgical amputation of a hand or foot and complete loss of function of the arm or leg.
2. BIC will also pay for necessary and reasonable expenses incurred as a result of an accident or illness covered by the insurance liability, including:
a. Emergency and medical expenses during treatment in Vietnam.
b. The cost of meals and room at the hospital during treatment in Vietnam is equal to 0.2% of the insurance amount each day.
c. Expenses for repatriation for the insured in case of not continuing treatment in Vietnam include: – Rent of an ambulance to the airport to return home;– Food, accommodation and reasonable travel for a person necessary to accompany to take care of the Insured Person upon repatriation, at the request of the director of the hospital where the Insured Person is being treated due to a medical condition. serious illness or disability of the insured.
d. In case the insured person dies due to an accident, BIC will pay reasonable expenses for burial or cremation in Vietnam or the cost of transporting the body and luggage of the insured person back home.
Article 11.
In the event that within 180 days from the date of occurrence of an accident within the scope of the insurance liability, the insured person dies or is totally and permanently disabled as a direct result of such accident, BIC will pay the difference between the amount stated on the insurance policy and the amount previously paid.
Article 12.
BIC indemnifies the Insured Person for lost baggage and personal effects, damage within the scope of liability in accordance with the provisions below, but not exceeding the sum insured for the baggage stated on the paper. Insurance certificate:
1. Lost or damaged property or objects according to the Insured’s declaration will be considered and compensated by BIC at its true value at the time of loss or damage. on the basis of the price of the like new item in that country of sale at the time of compensation.
2. In case the item is slightly damaged, if the spare part is replaced or the repair is usable, BIC will pay the cost of repairing and replacing the spare part in Vietnam. In case there are no conditions to repair or replace spare parts in Vietnam, BIC will compensate according to the loss ratio.
3. The limit of compensation for any item listed in the list of baggage and items, personal belongings is 20% of the sum insured for baggage stated on the certificate of insurance. A pair or set of objects is considered an item.
4. Where baggage and personal belongings, personal belongings have been compensated for due to loss, and later found, the insured has the right to receive the found baggage and refund the amount BIC has indemnified. If the Insured does not receive this property back within 30 days from the date of receipt of BIC’s notice, BIC has the right to handle such property to compensate for the indemnified amount.
VI. PROCEDURES FOR PAYING INSURANCE.
Article 13.
When the insured peril occurs, the Assured or their representatives are required to:
1. Notify the nearest BIC or let the hotel or tour organization know within 24 hours.
2. Follow the instructions of BIC, hotel or tour organization.
Article 14.
1. In case of claim for medical expenses and repatriation expenses, the doctor appointed by BIC shall be allowed to examine the health of the insured at any time it deems necessary.
2. In case of loss of baggage and supplies, the Insured is responsible for preventing and minimizing the loss.
Article 15.
The sum insured shall be paid to the Insured or the person authorized by the Insured. In case the Insured dies, the legal heirs will receive the money.
Article 16.
When making a claim, the Insured Person or his or her representative or legal heirs must submit the following documents to BIC within 30 days of the Insured’s departure from the hospital: hospital in Vietnam or die (but not more than 01 year from the date of occurrence of the insured risk) or lose or damage baggage.
1. Insurance claim form.
2. Certificate of Insurance.
3. Necessary documents related to the insurance claim, including:
a. In case of loss of life due to accident or illness:
- The accident record records the death or injury.
Medical treatment certificate. Receipts of medical expenses, repatriation and other expenses.
- Death certificate and certificate of legal inheritance (in case of death).
b. In case of damage to luggage and personal items. Proof of lost baggage, personal effects, damage and extent of loss.
- A record of the loss of the entire baggage and of the transport agency and the extent of the loss. A detailed list of the value of the damaged property.
- Customs declaration upon entry into Vietnam, clearly stating the luggage and property brought into Vietnam (in case the insured has to go through customs procedures).
Invoice for property repair or spare parts replacement.
c. Other relevant documents that BIC may require In case the Insured authorizes another person, a legal power of attorney is required.
Article 17.
In the event that the Insured or the legal heirs are dishonest in performing the provisions of these Rules, BIC reserves the right to refuse part or all of the sum insured depending on the seriousness of the breach.
Article 18.
Upon receipt of compensation for lost or damaged luggage and personal effects, the Insured must transfer the right of claim against the third party (if any) to BIC within the amount of compensation received and create all conditions for BIC to exercise this right of complaint.
Article 19.
The time limit for the Insured or the legal heir to make a claim against the BIC for the payment of insurance is two (2) years from the date the Insured or the heir receives the notice of settlement result. decision of the BIC.
VII. DISPUTE SETTLEMENT
Article 20.
Any dispute related to this Policy, if the parties cannot resolve it by negotiation, it will be brought to the people’s court of the province or city of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam having jurisdiction for settlement.
