Northern Vietnam: Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Sapa

Northern Vietnam experiences four distinct seasons with hot summers and cold winters. Summer months (June – August) are hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 25-35°C (77-95°F). Winters (December – February) are cooler with average temperatures of 15-20°C (59-68°F). During the winter months, it can get quite chilly, especially in the mountainous regions like Sapa. Spring (March – April) and autumn (September – November) are the best times to visit northern Vietnam when the weather is mild and pleasant.

Central Vietnam: Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An

Central Vietnam experiences a tropical climate with two distinct seasons – a wet season and a dry season. The wet season runs from September to February, with the heaviest rains falling in October and November. During this time, you can expect high humidity, occasional flooding, and thunderstorms. The dry season runs from March to August, with temperatures ranging from 24-38°C (75-100°F). The best time to visit central Vietnam is from February to May when the weather is dry, and the temperatures are mild.

Southern Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta

Southern Vietnam has a tropical climate with two seasons – the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season runs from December to April with average temperatures of 27-35°C (81-95°F). The rainy season runs from May to November, with heavy rainfalls and occasional typhoons. Despite the rainfall, temperatures remain high, ranging from 25-32°C (77-90°F). The best time to visit southern Vietnam is from December to April when the weather is dry and pleasant.

Overall, Vietnam is a great destination to visit all year round. However, it’s important to consider the weather patterns when planning your trip to ensure the most enjoyable experience.
